Yunjin Kim was born on November 7, 1973 in Seoul, South Korea, but she grew up in Staten Island, New York. She went to the High School of Performing Arts in New York and earned her BFA in acting from Boston University.
Kim was a rather shy child - she decided to get over it by taking acting classes when she was in the 7th grade.
In Korea, she has had starring roles in Ardor, Yesterday, Iron Palm, Ginko Bed 2, Journal of June and the Japanese film, Rush.
Kim was the Goodwill Ambassador for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea - she represented Korea.
